___Vybes is a musical mix series where I pick a theme of music to play, and I stay within that there for 2 hours of non-stop Vybes. The event started off as a live event for people to come with friends to drinks and hang out. When the pandemic happened, I took the event to Rise Radio, a cafe/bar that invites DJs to come play for their Twitch channel. As a DJ I curate the mix and song selections to make the atmosphere feel like the theme.
As a graphic designer I use a variety of typography, colors, and design to communicate the mood and feel of the event/playlist so people know what to expect when they tune in.
2000s VYBES
The flyer is inspired by Windows 2000s. The music played is the most popular music you used programs like Limewire and Frostwire to download.
Hip-Hop Love VYBES
The background is meant to feel like Valentines Day Weekend.
Spring VYBES
This was made to communicate Spring in the Day.
Reggae VYBES
The flyers uses "Irie" colors to symbolize the Reggae vibe.
Block Party VYBES
The background is a collage of things that might happen at block parties. The colors and design elements are inspired by "Do The Right Thing" a NYC Spike Lee film.
